Join JASH for the Texas-Japan Business Leaders Roundtable, a monthly business and policy program series that spotlights engines of creativity, innovation and economic opportunity in our region while connecting Texas and Japan industry leaders to promote bilateral exchange through shared experiences and diverse insights.
May’s gathering will feature JERA Americas Inc – a U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s largest power generation company in with their Houston office managing power and fuel related businesses here in the Americas.
The past year has been busy for JERA. In November 2021, JERA announced the acquisition of a 25.7% stake totaling approximately $2.5 billion in the Freeport LNG project, providing even greater access to North American liquefied natural gas.
Additionally, in December 2021, JERA purchased the planned El Sauz Wind Power Project located in Willacy County in southeast Texas. The wind farm will include 67 units each with a 4.5 MW output.
This doubling down on investments in Texas has led to an expansion of JERA’s Houston workforce and a new office space in downtown Houston.
Join us on May 19 to learn more about the work of JERA Americas Inc. and their big plans in Texas as JERA Americas Inc. CEO Steve Winn speaks to what led to this massive growth and JERA’s future plans in Texas.
