Shoko Aono of Ippodo Gallery, New York, joins Bradley M. Bailey, the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Curator of Asian Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH), to discuss historic and contemporary facets of Japanese tea culture.

Find a tranquil moment in 2021 with a brief history of the Japanese tea ceremony and a discussion of tea bowls and various accoutrements related to the changing seasons. Showcasing a wide variety of different styles by contemporary artists, Aono and Bailey will demonstrate the importance of seasonality in Japanese art and culture.
