As part of the Movies Houstonians Love film series, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) will be hosting a screening of the Japanese cult horror classic Hausu (House) on November 3rd from 5-6:45 PM.

Screening on Halloween weekend, House invokes the spirit of the holiday. This hallucinatory head trip follows a schoolgirl who travels with six classmates to her ailing aunt’s creaky country home. Evil spirits, a demonic house cat, a bloodthirsty piano, and other ghoulish visions are all realized by filmmaker Nobuhiko Obayashi via mattes, animation, and collage effects. House is a memorable cult favorite that is hard to describe—and not to be missed!

This film is presented by Fareena Arefeen, 2016 Houston Youth Poet Laureate.
