JBAH President Minoru Aizawa

Mr. Minoru Aizawa began his career as a Geophysicist with Mitsubishi Corporation in 1991, after completing both his BSc and MSc in Geophysics at Kyoto University.

Shortly after joining Mitsubishi, he was seconded to British Petroleum Development to work on a project in Melbourne, Australia.  After returning to Japan, he became manager of Western Australia LNG Import Service Company in Fukuoka, Japan.  The years that followed would see Mr. Aizawa rise to the role of Senior Geophysicist and Chief Explorationist at Mitsubishi Corporation

In 2001, Mr. Aizawa was named Vice President of MCX Exploration (USA) Ltd. in Houston.  After returning to Japan, he served as the Deputy General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation’s Donggi-Senoro Project Unit before serving four years as the Executive Vice President of Diamond Gas Management Canada Ltd. in Calgary.  Following his time in Canada, Mr. Aizawa was appointed Vice President and General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation’s Americas Oil & Gas Business Department.  In 2019, he was named the General Manager of Business Creation & Digital Strategy in the Natural Gas Group CEO Office of Mitsubishi Corporation.

Mr. Aizawa returned to Houston earlier this year and now serves as General Manager of the Houston Branch as well as the Senior Vice President/Head of Natural Gas Group of Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas). He is also the current President of the Japan Business Association of Houston (JBAH).

The JBAH was established in 1967 as a non-profit organization to foster good will and understanding between Japanese corporations operating in the greater Houston area and local residents, companies, and government.
