JLSF Presents: The 20th Annual All-USA High School Japanese Speech Contest

  • The Japan Foundation Los Angeles 5700 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 100 Los Angeles, CA, 90036 United States (map)

The Japanese Language Scholarship Foundation (JLSF) will host the 20th Annual All-USA High School Japanese Speech Contest on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:30 PM CDT / 12:30 PM PDT, in Los Angeles, California.

This contest provides high school students studying the Japanese language in the United States (whose native language is not Japanese) to make presentations in Japanese and to inspire others to improve their proficiency in Japanese. It is also hoped that the contest will encourage students to further their understanding of Japan, its people, and its culture.

The participants have been carefully selected from among those recommended by the organizers of regional contests held across the country. Texas will be represented by the 2024 Texas State Japanese Language Speech Contest 1st place winner Lauren Tippin from Boerne High School in the San Antonio region and 2nd place winner Ian Barker from Richardson High School in Dallas.
