The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) is hosting three (3) additional showings of the acclaimed Japanese film, Drive My Car.

One of 2021’s most-awarded films, Drive My Car is an immersive, character-driven drama about a happily married stage actor/director whose life is turned upside down when his playwright wife dies. He accepts a directing assignment from a theater festival in Hiroshima, where he is assigned a female driver with whom he develops a close bond. Director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi mines the stories of the ensemble cast and crew, creating a truly absorbing narrative, full of unexpected revelations.

A masterpiece about life and death and art . . . a work of pure cinema.

—Manohla Dargis, New York Times
