Join JASH for the Texas-Japan Business Leaders Roundtable, a monthly business and policy program series that spotlights engines of creativity, innovation and economic opportunity in our region while connecting Texas and Japan industry leaders to promote bilateral exchange through shared experiences and diverse insights.
August’s gathering will feature Texas Central Partners, LLC– the private company undertaking the development, design, construction, finance and operation of the U.S.’s first high-speed railway that will connect Greater Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth metro areas.
Texas Central Partners CEO Dr. Carlos F. Aguilar will provide an overview of the project, highlight the project’s recent milestones, and share next steps.
In June, Texas Central announced a $16 billion final agreement with Italian firm Webuild Group as the design-build lead for the high-speed rail line. Moreover, in mid-July, Texas Central reported that Spain’s Renfe had signed on as an early operator of the 236-mile railway, taking responsibility for work on the design and development of the commercial aspects of the railway. Moving forward, construction is expected to start late 2021 to early 2022.
With the path forward becoming clearer every day, learn how Texas Central will be bringing Houston and Dallas closer than ever before.
