FUJIFILMDiosynth Biotechnologies Texas has an important private-public relationship with the U.S. Government, which has uniquely positioned the company to help the U.S. meet medical needs and increasing domestic bio-manufacturing capacity. As a subcontractor of Texas A&M University System Center for Innovation in Advanced Development & Manufacturing (CIADM), FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas has been hard at work providing large-scale COVID-19 vaccine production since early 2021 for Operation Warp Speed.
Notwithstanding, FUJIFILMDiosynth Biotechnologies Texas has remained focused on its work in gene therapy. The $55M USD Advanced Therapies Innovation Center in College Station, TX, is scheduled to open in October 2021, and the lab will be dedicated to the production of gene therapy pharmaceuticals and biologics for the treatment of genetic disorders such as cancer and muscular dystrophy

About the Speaker:
Gerry Farrell, Ph.D.
Dr. Farrell is the Chief Operating Officer for FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, Texas. He earned his Ph.D. from Dublin City University and has over 25 years’ experience in contract and development manufacturing. He has been a part of the Diosynth team for the past 20 years holding senior roles in project management, process development and manufacturing. He has broad experience in the tech transfer, development, and manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products from clinical supply through process validation up to and including commercial manufacturing. Gerry moved to Texas in 2014 to look after the College Station site when FUJIFILM acquired the facility from TAMU System and the State of Texas. He has since led the growth of the company’s business and footprint in College Station.
