Join the Japan Society of New York Film team for a Netflix Party screening of Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro.

In this ceaselessly entertaining, adventure-filled classic, master thief Lupin turns an elaborate chateau inside out to save a beautiful young woman from forced marriage to the malicious counterfeiter Count Cagliostro. Making his directorial debut, Hayao Miyazaki (working for a major animation company prior to the founding of Studio Ghibli) puts a twist on the original Monkey Punch manga by making the arrogant titular thief into something of a loveable hero, an approach that resulted in the most well regarded film in the immensely popular Lupin franchise and a landmark work in the history of Japanese animation.

This free event requires a Netflix subscription and use of the Google Chrome browser. To join, install the Netflix Party Google Chrome extension and follow Japan Society on social media to access the Netflix Party link, which will be posted 15 minutes prior to the screening.
