As local and global economies continue to be impacted by COVID-19 and the collapse in oil prices, community and business leaders across the world are wondering how the imminent recession will affect global trade trends and industries conducting international business.
The Greater Houston Partnership’s (GHP) virtual State of Houston’s Global Economy event will examine these impacts and provide a comprehensive analysis of the many factors contributing to the economic downturn.
Patrick Jankowski, Senior Vice President of Research for the Partnership, will deliver his annual Global Economy report on the economic impacts of COVID-19 on the global economy, new attitudes toward trade and travel, the backlash against globalism and other trends.
The event will also feature former U.S. Secretary of Commerce and Chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, Carlos Gutierrez, who will participate in a fireside chat with Partnership President and CEO, Bob Harvey, discussing how the pandemic is affecting trade patterns, international financial markets and global transport going forward.
Event registrants will receive an electronic copy of the Partnership’s Global Houston 2020 publication, which provides an analysis of global trends impacting Houston’s economy and insights into a post-COVID world.
