In an increasingly complex 21st-century policy environment, there is a need for sustained multilateral coordination on non-traditional security threats—including pandemics—in addition to addressing persistent traditional security threats such as North Korea’s nuclear program. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has affected countries worldwide, changing the way we live our lives, the health of our nation, and the global economy. What is the future role of alliances in managing cross-border security threats? How can states balance sovereignty with global responsibilities? Please join speakers Ambassador Oh Joon, Mr. Kanehara Nobukatsu, Ambassador Kathleen Stephens, and Ambassador Qi Zhenhong as they discuss their experiences in working together on multinational policy problems and their recommendations for the next generation of policy-makers.
