In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), through WORLD Channel and in collaboration with the Center For Asian American Media, will be sharing a collection of stories that explores the history, traditions and culture of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
Told through intimate personal stories, the film series highlight the ways in which Asian Americans, Japanese Americans included, have triumphed and shaped American history and identity, all while facing unimaginable challenges.
Over 40 films are available for viewing. The documentaries/movies shared here present stories of prominent Japanese Americans and major moments in recent Japanese American history.
